When Adolph Hitler was a starving artist in Vienna he fell madly in love with a lovely 16 year old Jewish girl from a prosperous family named Stephanie Isak. He obsessed over her. Painting her portrait over and over again and wrote volumes of syrupy love sonnets to her. As he was a gentile, poor and a little eccentric Stephanie rejected his advances for four years and finally married another. Hitler was crushed.
Alas, Stephanie if you hadn’t jilted that sad young artist we might be living in a very different world. Oh, the things upon which history turns. In this case unrequited teenage love.
